Dyer cultivation originating in the Manchuela, whose cultivation came almost to be lost and has been partially recovered but largely has been replaced by Alicante Bouschet (Garnacha tintorera small grain) obtained in 1855.
Intensely coloured musts, with high graduation, very tannic and rough, with balanced acidity.
Capable of very dense wines, alcoholic, coloured and with aromas of intense red fruits.
It is a variety that is not usually vinification alone, but is used to add color to the mixture.
